Why we need this app

According to World Health Organisation, the most important factor affecting health is a lifestyle.

Inadequate lifestyle habits have led to a rise in overweight and obesity in young populations.

Meal planning is associated with a healthier diet and less obesity. Although no causality can be inferred from the reported associations, these data suggest that meal planning could potentially be relevant for obesity prevention.
Data Collection
We received participation from over 70 individuals in both our pre and post surveys. These insights proved invaluable in shaping our application to better meet the needs and requirements of our users.
Results
User Preferences
A significant majority of respondents, 81.8%, identified customization as essential. Additionally, a noteworthy 72.7% expressed interest in alternative ingredient suggestions tailored to their dietary restrictions or preferences.
Valued Features
Among the features highly valued by users were recipe suggestions based on inventory, nutrition information availability, and budget management tools, each resonating with 72.7%, 63.6%, and 63.6% of respondents, respectively.
Personalization
A considerable proportion of respondents, 54.5%, found personalized recipe recommendations to be extremely helpful, indicating a strong preference for tailored culinary guidance.
Engagement
Interest in engaging features such as video tutorials for cooking techniques was evident, with 45.5% expressing a high likelihood of usage. Moreover, a substantial portion of respondents, 45.5% sometimes and 36.4% always, engage in bulk cooking practices.
Meal Planning Habits
The time allocated to meal planning varied widely, with respondents dedicating anywhere from less than 30 minutes to over 2 hours weekly. Furthermore, cooking frequency was diverse, with 63.6% cooking daily and 27.3% cooking several times a week.
Overall, the survey highlights a strong demand for customization, personalized recommendations, and convenient features like inventory management and budgeting. Users engage with meal prep apps to streamline their cooking process and enhance their culinary experience, indicating a significant market opportunity for tailored and user-friendly applications.
